Private Music Lessons

Every lesson at Adkins Music Lessons is private and one-on-one. We do not offer group classes because most students learn better when the teacher can focus on them instead of trying to keep six people moving in the same direction. Music is not a parade.

Private lessons mean your teacher can choose songs, exercises, pacing, and feedback for you. If something clicks, you can move forward. If something is tricky, you can slow down and fix it before it becomes one of those habits that follows you around like an off-beat tambourine.

That personal attention helps students build skill, confidence, and momentum. It also makes lessons more enjoyable because the student is not just following a group plan. They are learning in a way that actually fits them.

How Private Lessons Work

Each lesson is a 30-minute block. Most students keep a weekly time at one of our four studios, and some book extra blocks when they want more time. Your teacher plans around your progress, goals, and what needs attention next.

Between lessons, students get clear practice goals. That way home practice has a point and does not turn into ten minutes of staring at the instrument like it owes you answers.

Private Lessons vs. Group Classes

Group classes can be fun, but they move at the group's pace. If you learn quickly, you wait. If you need more time, the class may move on. That can work for some activities, but music usually needs more personal attention.

In a private lesson, the teacher adjusts to the student. They can change the song, simplify the rhythm, fix a technique issue, or spend more time on the part that needs it. That flexibility is why private students often make steadier progress.

Who Benefits from Private Instruction

Private lessons work for young beginners, busy adults, teens preparing for auditions, students with big goals, and students who simply need a teacher to slow down and explain things clearly. They are also helpful for kids who would rather not learn in front of a room full of other kids. We understand.

If you have ever felt lost in a group setting, private lessons solve that problem. The plan is built around the student, not around keeping a class on schedule.
